touch typing/computer skills for 9 year old in london

Please can anyone recommend a touch typing course and/or fun basic computer skills course in central/west london. Preferably in the holidays but after school or weekends too.

My 9 year old DS has fallen behind in ICT and has now lost confidence, he just needs a boost to get his motivation back.

His handwriting problems are increasing and the school are considering letting him use a laptop instead of writing, but his 1 fingered typing is painfully slow.......

I am going to post in SEN too, in the hope that someone knows of a good course or tutor.

TIA Smile

if you live in south london - there is a typing school next to greenwich station - actually on the same premises. typing courses for kids alike. search on the internet for it

Is that the one nn'ed "Stormin' Norman". If so, I've heard good things too.

Hi

My ds (8) has taught himself touch typing at home using the BBC Dance Mat Typing course online.

He needed to learn fast so that he could start using an alphasmart in class and he picked it up really quickly. He really enjoys it too.

Just thought it might help your ds to get in some practise at home.

I'll second the BBC Dance Mat.

My Dyspraxic DS2 used the Mavis Beacon software to learn when he was 10 - it is really good.
