DS1 aged 8 in year 4 has been on School Action Plus for over a year. Is this a normal length of time? Some progress has been made but it is miniscule to say the least.

I have asked them to apply for IPF, individual pupil funding, but have been told it is highly unlikely.

I am just frustrated with the ad hoc approach to support for DS that only comes when I get fucked off with the school!

Dyslexia is the issue.

I would also post this on the Special Needs; children section of this website as it gets more traffic that this forum.

Par for the course really re SA plus in terms of time. It is really not worth the paper its written on because the money is not there.

How helpful - or not is the SENCO here?.
Have you talked to Dyslexia Action and have you had DS assessed independently by a dyslexia specialist?.
