My DD has just started secondary school and I am worrying about how to help with her poor spelling. She got some help at primary school but not sure what to do now. I have informed her tutor (DD had a learning support service consultation at primary that said dyslexia so I have a copy of that report)But first week involved long spelling test marked by another pupil in which she scored very low. Anything practical I can do to help? I have started to write key words in the back of her books and I am going to buy a spellchecker (any advice there too plse)She is otherwise quite bright got level 5s for SATs but spelling is not worth that many marks in the english SAT but it really stands out at High school in every subject and in homework. Should I supervise and help with spellings for all her homework or not?
