Brother died in Kerala

I am reaching out to lovely people who understand how funerals are organised in Kerala.
My brother died at the beginning of August in Kerala and we were notified a few days later. He lived there for 25 years and we have had absolutely no contact from him for a few years .
The FO have been as helpful as possible but now nearly 4 weeks later we are struggling with finding out any information regarding post mortem, where he lived, how he lived.
We are trying to organise a respectful, dignified funeral/ cremation for him .
We know where his body is but absolutely nothing else apart from the hospital where he is .
The funeral director we have paid, local to the hospital is claiming that the payment we sent over a week ago has not arrived in their account.Am not doubting their integrity but we are not sure where we go from here.
The local police station have not replied to our emails.
We are desperate to know what we can do next, to ensure that our brother is put to rest in a respectful way.
Absolutely any advice from anyone would be appreciated . Thank you in advance.X

I am sorry for your loss.

Is going over to India a possibility? These things are easier in person.

Try lbtglobal formerly the Lucy Blackman Trust. They may be able to help you.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately going to India is not a possibility for us ,too much to explain but financially and because we wouldn’t actually know where to go ! No address so it would be impossible to know where to start ! Our brother was basically off the grid but despite everything we we are hoping/ trying for him to be cremated and ashes taken to the area where he lived.
It’s a really difficult situation.

Sorry can you help me understand who's doing the cremation/funeral there? Since you're not physically present...do you have anyone else who can do it? Surely the body won't be kept that long..

Sorry for your loss.
I would be very careful with private organisers. Hope you can get closure on the matter soon. It's not easy, even for those from the area.

Can take a while for international money transfers to be released the other end. Speak to your bank or the sending agent to check it’s actually cleared this end. Sorry for your loss but these things can take a long time
