What is a normal amount to spend on a bridal lehengha?

I am seeing such a wide range of prices. A few lehenghas are quite eye watering but I don’t now if that’s just how it is. My parents don’t like anything over the top so I think they have skewed my perceptions. I also don’t want to be ripped off.

I was bridesmaid for my friend in 2019 so not sure if the prices are still similar. She is not Pakistani, she was marrying a Pakistani man, and had a traditional western wedding dress for the ceremony and then bridal lehenga for the reception. When shopping we discovered a range of prices for both from under £500 to £5000+. She paid just over £1000 at the time.
