Any chance of getting an Indian tourist visa as a Pakistani?

I’m a British born British citizen but I hold a NICOP (national identity card for overseas Pakistanis) as my dad was born in pakistan and all my grandparents were. My mum has a nicop too as her parents are Pakistani born. My question is, is there any chance at all?

Yes it is possible, but mostly likely your (first) application will be pending for 2-3 months and you will get a single entry 3 month visa. As a person of Pakistani origin you are not eligible to complete the online e-visa on the VFS website, and your application will need to be submitted in person (3 copies I think) at a VFS office. Also for a tourist visa you will need a strong sponsor in India (a sponsor per city you will be visiting) and that sponsor will need to attest your ID at a local CID office in those cities (Mumbai, Delhi etc.), hotels won't do this. Also you will end up making 2-3 trips to a VFS office for documentation. I am of Pakistani origin of my mum's side (but don't have an overseas Pakistani ID) and my husband is of Indian origin, and it's always a stressful process applying for a visitor visa for India (last time was in 2022). Now with the whole Hindu nationalist movement happening in India atm I reckon that visa applications for people of Pakistani origin will become even more challenging now.
