Can I ask which brand of foundation you use. I’m struggling to find something…

Basically I’m mid 40s, skin is alright. Don’t wear much make up these days. But would be nice every now and then something to brighten and give me a bit of a glow.

Any recommendations? Thanks

I use No 7. It's very light and non greasy. I can't remember the shade but I am on the lighter end of the shade card.

I am late 50s and I use Este Lauder Double Wear. It's goes on smoothly and lasts all day. Not cheap at 35 quid a pop but nip into Boots (or similar) and get them to match your shade.

Another vote for the No7 - beautifully matte

Neverendingdust · 29/06/2022 22:28

Get your skin in order before trying out any new foundations. Coverage will always be amazing on exfoliated well hydrated skin. That glow won’t look authentic if it’s just from a bottle so make sure you drink plenty of water, get good quality sleep, wear spf and double cleanse.

If you want to brighten and add a bit of glow I'd recommend either Clinique even better glow, very easy to use, gives a soft finish with medium coverage. Or Lancome teint miracle with also gives you some radiance and glow but can stick to dry areas like around the nose and is a bit more expensive. Clinique is a good all rounder imo. I'm 43 with normal to dry skin.

Sorry. I'm not south Asian!

Sparkles41 · 30/06/2022 21:26

Thank you all. All very helpful advice & suggestions. I will look into these and yes drink lots of water and exfoliating my skin. However the good quality sleep is a no-no, with 2 kids aged 2 & 4.

Thanks again 😀

I find it very hard for the couloirs to match my dark skin. Have used Bobbi brown in the past.
Do you book appointment to do the matching?
I am nearly 50 and don't use make up, would be good to use every now and then when I go out.

brighteyesburninglikefire · 20/07/2022 23:55

I like good old Bobbi Brown. Medium tan, always works, across all ranges for me

Horcruxe · 14/08/2022 23:01

I've found bobbi brown the best

Keroppi · 18/08/2022 00:57

Another No 7 user - get my skin shade checked every time

LadyMaid · 20/08/2022 23:11

I used mac studio fix fluid.
I have dry skin with yellow undertones.

AuntiePushpa · 20/08/2022 23:26

Bobbi brown

Sceptre86 · 20/08/2022 23:29

I use mac studio fix for nice occasions as I have a yellow undertone to my skin. I find it gives great coverage and leaves me with a nice glow. I use loreal day to day.

IT cosmetics CC cream is better than foundation. It has mineral sunscreen so leaves a tiny bit of a white cast but amazing coverage. And feels really good on the skin.

I use the shade Rich.

eomeoni · 23/08/2022 14:49

I have oily combination skin.
I use IT cosmetics CC cream. I wear medium tan. The coverage is great and it looks natural.

If I want my foundation to last a bit longer I wear Double Wear by Estée Lauder.
