So good to see legends Meera Syal and Anita Anand celebrate the Ayahs’ Home in Hackney getting its blue plaque. ‘Another strand of our hidden history remembered and celebrated. ⁦’

Wish this news was more mainstream- why isn’t it on the BBC’s UK page : ‘In the heydays of the British empire, thousands of nannies from India and parts of Asia were brought to London to look after young children. Many who were later abandoned and left to fend for themselves were housed in this building in London. Read: bbc.in/3O3SWiU
