My son is 9 and me and his dad think he may have dyslexia. My husband has it. We currently live abroad but are moving back to the UK next year. We have been told it could take upto 2 years for an assessment here, but obviously by then we will be living back in the UK. Is the waiting time the same in the UK?. We used to live in the UK and we said to our sons school then that we thought he had dyslexia but they brushed it off as he was still very young. We've mentioned it here but they've not been the greatest with help and support if im honest. So we feel abit lost. We have an appointment with a GP to see if there is any other available help in the meantime, we just want to get our son the right help, so he doesn't fall behind in school.
