Ds2 is a lump.. he’s not been formally diagnosed as autistic but paediatrician has said he is but too young for a formal diagnosis and we’ll be invited back for this after his 3rd birthday. He was late to sit/crawl/walk and falls frequently indoors so at almost 2 he’s still heavily dependent on his buggy.. which I’m aware is fairly normal going by my eldest.

But he’s massive off the centile lines and thrashes violently during a meltdown or even excitement, so our buggy had to be sturdy with no obvious metal near his face. He’s now no room with the straps as loose as they go.

What do we do? He’s in an older phil n teds so it’s already a larger weight limit

Maybe something like these?

AnxiteacupStorm · 18/11/2021 17:13

@dementedpixie yes something like the maclaren but ideally one that reclines for the sake of day time sleep. Hv’s putting a referral through but isn’t hopeful with his age.

The cost has me, by the time you get all the bits, off to stalk eBay incase we can go second hand.

The special tomato EIO and jogger recline. We had the special tomato jogger until DS1 outgrew it. We also had an Ormesa Bug.

Despite DS's age if an ordinary pushchair can not meet DS's his needs wheelchair services should provide something. You could also contact Whizz Kids, Newlife and Caudwell Children, they can sometimes help too.

How much does he weigh? The Uppababy Vista is to 18kg

AnxiteacupStorm · 20/11/2021 22:36

@Imitatingdory the tomato eio looks the closest to the “right” thing so far obviously I don’t think I’ll get a choice with the referral but can’t hurt to ask if the other seems a unsuitable. I’ll look into those places too Thankyou.

@Ozanj his Phil n teds is 20kgs he’s definitely under that but the straps are too tight and he’s definitely not comfortable. The vistas more expensive than the ones that go up to 50kg so couldn’t justify it incase it only held up a year.
