Turning my idea into a product

I've been trying for years (on & off) to get an idea off the ground. Unfortunately, every avenue I've tried has felt risky, & I don't want to risk sharing my idea with the wrong people. Could anyone who's got something from brain to market please advise on first steps?

I mean it's a really broad question, but I have side projects that have turned in to side incomes... I would say start small with whatever it is, or create a MVP (minimal viable product) to see if it works before committing to investing more time and money.

Avoid sharing ideas with negative people or who will not support you - they only drag you down or put you off. Find similar people who will support you and bounce ideas off... my 2pence.
