Gov UK ID check

I can’t do it. I’ve tried so many times and getting so stressed as have to I put my companies house personal code within the next few weeks or risk penalties.

I tried to verify my id online and took photos of my passport but it said “sorry we cannot confirm your identity” and won’t let me try again. I can find guidance that says to do it at the post office. To do this it says “enter details from your Photo ID on gov.uk, go to a post office that offers in branch verification”. But there is no link to the part of gov.uk where I input those details. I can’t see where to do it!

does anyone have any clue? I don’t know who to ask, can’t get through to any support!

Urgh I had major issues doing this too as I don't have a passport. It did eventually work for me but I can't remember exactly what I did. I have a feeling I went through the app rather than the website, have you tried that? Sorry I'm not more help!

I completed it with my driving license and it shocked me how easy it was. Perhaps try again with that.

p.s I’m normally the first person to get overly and probably unreasonably stressed by these things

Have you an accountant? Mine did it with me in their office as it was messing up my end

I work in an accountants and we have had to help a lot of people with this. The best thing to do is do it with the app on your phone. It seems to be the most reliable method.

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses and solidarity to the most frustrating thing ever. I tried with driving licence and it says my identity can’t be verified. Thought best option was the post office but it tells me to fill in some damned form but doesn’t link to it and I can’t find it!
My accountant is being so slow to reply I’m worried about missing my deadline :(

I actually thought the deadline was the 18th november, i heard there was an issue with companies house system this week.
Have ypu tried today or possibly called companies house x
