Ltd company or umbrella company

I am wanting to pick some ad hoc work outside my normal full time job. I am a professional and can pick up work through an agency guaranteed to fit in what I want to do. I am unsure whether to set up a Ltd company or go through an umbrella company.

If you are using an umbrella company, just make sure that you can put through tax deductible business expenses that aren't paid through them, e.g. a contributions towards home internet and home heating that you pay personally. Payment for mileage on your car when used on company business etc.
