I need a new laptop - any recommendations?

I need a new laptop for work, I have always had windows but I'm considering a MacBook.

What are the advantages of having a MacBook over windows? Is it worth paying the extra money or would a windows one be just as good?

I want one that works quickly as my current one is very slow and it's driving me insane!

What applications do you use? What's your budget?

I use email, excel and a software that I use for work which is what I need it to work quickly for.

Budget I would say anything between £500-£1000 I know it's a massive difference but I just need a really reliable laptop! I would like to spend as little as possible but it's more important for it to work well.

Also I get the impression that apple laptops last much longer than windows. Mine always slow down after a few years.

What is the software you need for work?

Hi,
sorry for late response.
I had a quite advanced HP Envy360 before and moved to MacBook Air.

the MacBook can manage wayyy more ongoing applications, you can take a call on your phone or Apple Watch and move it to the computer.

Office 365 applications there are programs for, as for most programs.

we work as technical engineers, so a lot of software I need to use on the HP.

id choose a MacBook any day of the week. If you have an iPhone, notes, files, calls and music moves between the computer/phone/watch seamlessly.

Everytime I open the MacBook, it asks to connect to my phone if there’s no known WiFi.

with windows computers, I’ve found it a hassle to connect to the phones hotspot.

this is just me, but MacBook far outweighs windows pc.

good luck with your investment!
