Messy Play Business

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice re what I'd need to start a messy food play business.
I'm a Home Economics Teacher by trade so I have a food hygiene certificate, I have allergen training, a Bsc Degree in Food Product Development, I have my PGDE in Education, I have a clean Disclosure for working with children and I have public liability insurance for my cake business.

Do I need anything else or do I need separate insurance for this part of the business to be more catered towards babies/parents/toddlers or will by PLI cover this too?

I was planning on training in emergency paediatric first aid too.

Thank you :)

You'll need separate insurance as it is a completely different business. You may also need a different DBS if your current one is for an employer not as self employed.
Where will you be running it from? If home, then you need to contact your home insurer and mortgage provider or landlord also.
