Hey, I want to set up a graze board company, I've done a few for friends/family and would like to offer this as business to my local area.

What certificates/insurances etc would I need for this?

I would prepare most food from home then set up at the choice of the customer if that makes any difference?

If it's just you, i.e. no staff, you need at least a level two hygiene certificate. Then you need to contact your local council for a hygiene inspection of your kitchen. You will need insurance (in case anyone gets poorly from food you have served and sues you) and you will need to inform your home insurance company and landlord/mortgage provider that you will be using your home for business purposes.
In addition to that you will need to register as self employed with HMRC if you are going to turnover at least £1000 within each tax year (note this is turnover NOT profit) and you will need to at least keep a basic spreadsheet of all incomings and outgoings.
If you are in receipt of any means tested benefits you will also potentially need to inform the relevant authorities.

Thank you so much. This is very helpful.
