What to charge for these two one-off visits ...

I run a mobile cat sitting business and have a zone around where I live, but I took on a job for a client near to my normal place of work in my day job (I work 9 miles away from home). They don't book me that often and usually pay mileage. This is the first job I have done for them since the pandemic.

I was called out to this house over a weekend on two separate occasions, one when the snow was everywhere the other weekend. I had to do the second trip on public transport. The second trip was a round trip of SIX HOURS. It was necessary as one of the couple was away and the one at home is disabled and couldn't cope.

It involved putting water and food down and cleaning out five litter trays for eight cats.

I don't know what to charge! Or where to begin to add up the costs.

Well you charge your hourly rate surely you discussed it before agreeing the job? I dog sit £15 an hour for the first one and £5 for any additionals. Plus travel time and mileage. It would be the same for cats
