I sell antiques on various platforms including Ebay.
A customer has contacted me, He does not want to buy the item but the right to use my lead photo on the dust jacket of a book he is writing.
Its my item and my photo taken by me, so I own the copyright. I imagine there will be legal formalities with my having to give the author permission to use the photograph. He is asking what fee I will charge for permission to use it. However I have no idea what to ask. Any publishers or editors or people in the book industry out there who have some knowledge /experience of these things?
We will also need to communicate outside of Ebay which in itself is a challenge as Ebay do not allow members to exchange email addresses. So I will have to find a way around that which does not break Ebay rules.
