A bit of background I was sold an IVA without really realising what it was, I thought I was getting impartial advice and before I knew I’d been sold an IVA. Didn’t even realise they charged a fee for the IVA until I read the final paperwork....
ANYWAY safe to say it wasn’t explained to me that I’d struggle to get business insurance once in the IVA.
I’m self employed (they knew that and didn’t tell me)
So COVID and being pregnant closed my business so I cancelled my insurance (was in place before IVA started and just thought I’d not be needing the insurance so no point paying for it - right?)
So now I’m trying to get insured again ... and no one will insure me!
Can’t work without insurance so I’m now stuck as if I can’t work I can’t pay the IVA- how backwards is all of this!
Helpful answers only please, I’m super embarrassed about the IVA and feel stupid for agreeing to it when in reality there were SO many ways I could’ve dealt with the debt (my X partner lovingly left me with in my name)
