Editing photos

Quite specific - anyone know how I can make a section of a photo pure white / another colour with just one click - rather than having to outline / shade etc? Eg the whole pic except a specific object / the whole background of a pic?

Maybe there's an iPhone app / something I can use in my MacBook?

I use Photoshop for this (works on a Mac or other desktop) but it is not free.

I use fivver for background deletion.

Gimp has most of the functionality of Photoshop, and is free. It's not difficult to learn to use (I manage it)
