Baby trying to stand up in her sling all the time

I have a lovely pouch sling from Freedom slings, but my diddy daughter has become so difficult to carry in it, not because she's heavy or large, but because she tries to stand up all the time, or attempts to flip out headfirst- she spends most of her time in the sling leaning outwards away from me, not because she doesn't like the sling (she does), but because she's a prize wriggler. What carrying position would you recommend for such a wriggler? I would be really sad to have to stop using it but it just doesn't feel all that safe at the moment unless I wedge the edge around her shoulder, which she can also wriggle out of. I think I'm carrying her in the Buddha or kangaroo (?) position at the moment.

How odl is she?

9 months. Weighs about 7 kg. V feisty.

can u do a hip carry in them?

YY to hip carry, get her feet out of the sling, she's probably just trying to straighten then to stretch and overbalancing herself .
If you get the bottom 'edge' of the pouch right behind her knees and adjust her so her bum is lower than knees, then pull back up as high as it can go she shouldn't be able ot flip.

I found by 7-8 months they wanted their legs out, even when 'lying down' in a pouch or ringsling, so used hip carries or a mei tai for back or front carries. That wya they are more 'sitting' than legs folded.

I do sympathise with the wriggling, it's always at the worst moment as well, DD1 was model child, DD2 complete wriggling backarching nightmare!
