Can you bf in the football hold with a sling?

I only ever really got on with the football hold with my first baby, now expecting number 2 and I would like a sling to bf in in public, not only for a bit of coverage but also because there's not always somewhere to prop a baby while you do the football position which really limited us from bf in public last time.

So can you bf in the football hold in a sling? and if so which is the best type? Thanks

I've bf in that position with a tricotti sling but I wouldn't really recommend that sling.

I think the ring slings are probably best slings to bf in, although I don't particularly like the ring slings for long term use.

I had a ring sling with ds but I didn't really get on with it (mind you it wasn't a very good example of one, it was made in unstretchy scratchy material which was stiff and bunchy against us) so was hoping to find a better solution this time really.

I've seen some pouch type ones which I thought might be easy enough to swing round from a front cradle hold to the side for football hold. Does this sound ok?

Thanks loopy, it wasn't so much the baby that made bf difficult as my rather saggy boobs! the football position worked really well, but in any front positions I had to hold my boob carefully the whole time or it would cover his nose.

My only worry with getting a pouch sling is getting the right size made, as they aren't adjustable.
