What do I dress DS in when out and about in the Moby?

We're coming to UK over Christmas and I hear it's rather chilly over there at the moment.

DS is 1 month old and loves going in the Moby wrap in the newborn hughold. Where we live it's not that cold so he's been fine in normal clothes with maybe my scarf wrapped over him if the wind gets up. But I expect that won't be enough in England.

So do I put him in a snowsuit in the wrap. The only one I have is still rather big on him and will bulk it all up considerably.

I've got a big fleece that does up over him, plus a waterproof poncho in case of rain. I don't want him over heating though.

Any advice from experienced baby wearers would be gratefully received.

when dd4 is in a sling, i dress her as i would indoors and add an extra layer (cardy or fleece jumper) and a warm wooly hat. the layers of the wrao count as clothing IMO (i sometimes do a 3 layer carry like a reinforced ruck, or a 1 layer carry like a normal ruck), then put on my fleece coat. I find she is toasty warm, not too hot, definatly not cold. Plus i get to feel warmer as i have her body heat keeping me warm and vice versa

I'm definitely warm and cosy

So a snowsuit may be pushing things a bit too far?...

yes

is the newborn hug then one where he is laying across you? how layers of wrap cover him?

just make sure his head is covered if he is upright, particually his ear as they get very cold.

you could also tuck a blanket over him if you are worried.

i think dd4 would feel too hot in a snowsuit.

if your baby was being worn outside of the fleece top and over a coat, then i would suggest maybe a snowsuit. but as he is tucked in againts your body without a big coat between you, he shuld be fine

Won't your coat be over him too?
