How to put baby down if babywearing sans stroller

Hi! My first post! I know that some people baby wear—with a sling, ergobaby, etc.—without owning a stroller. This is rather attractive to us, but I was wondering whether this means we can never put baby down, for example at a café or restaurant? Is there, for example, a good and easily portable bassinet or mini-cot available? I see some on Amazon that are bags that turn into little cot things, but I don’t know how good they are. Thanks!

Honestly until mine was big enough for a high chair I just carried/held her

Never had a buggy, tried a pram a few times but eldest & I both hated it so never used it again.

I don’t remember it ever being a problem tbh, I always had to get them out to BF (dodgy latch/huge boobs) anyway. They would be cuddled or popped back in wrap when very wee, once able to sit they could go in a high chair but usually preferred to be cuddled.

I would let babies have a wriggle on a bench type seat (obviously while keeping them safe) or on the wrap on the grass etc when out.

Being able to carry everything other than the baby is more of a pain tbh, rucksacks with a front carry, across body bag with a back carry (Or a long BW bag hung below baby on back but I didn’t like that.) ok with first but tricky once you need to carry lunch for 4!
