We're making plans to test and review new slings and baby carriers and we'd love to know which ones you'd recommend.

Choosing the right sling or baby carrier is a very personal decision. Often the best way to decide is just to try out a few from another parent or a sling library. But there are so many options to choose from it can be hard to know which one might work for you.

If you've bought and loved a sling or baby carrier in the last two years, we want to hear about it! Tell us which one you loved and why you loved it. Your comments will help us to create a shortlist of carriers to test and recommend to new parents.

Love my Tula Free to Grow (which I got from my local sling library)

StompyDino · 02/10/2018 15:26

Just got a Boba X from the local sling library and really like it.

Ergobaby adapt

I love it because it's straightforward to use and DD always looks comfy in it. If I have another baby I'll use this carrier from the outset.

I had a ring sling at first and just found it so complicated to use and DD never look convincing in it.

Ergobaby 360 performance

I used a Connecta and a Nova Deluxe for my daughter and can't wait to get them out again for baby #2 - they were both brilliant - personally I don't like the structure (or forward-facing position) of carriers like BabyBjörn, but I struggled with a ring sling. The Connecta and the Nova seemed to offer a perfect middle ground.

I've also bought a Caboo for my new baby, as I'm keen to carry him from birth and so many people recommended the Caboo as the best newborn carrier (that apparently is easy to feed in too).

Mamaruga Zensling :)

Ergobaby. Have tried Bjorn and various soft slings. Ergo is best.

mnahmnah · 02/10/2018 15:46

I’ve tried several and my Tula is by far the best. Love it!

MyOtherProfile · 02/10/2018 15:49

Babasling. Lovely.

randomsabreuse · 02/10/2018 15:50

Early days, close caboo although having done caboo I'm now happier with a basic wrap. After child starts to get more independent and active, Manduca has been great. Interested in toddler/preschooler options to fold into a bag as the Manduca is bulky when not on and it would be nice to have an emergency option for overtired/stroppy mcstropface situations.

I have a babybjorn one I love. I had an older ergo which was ok -so considered the Ergo 360 but bjorn looked easier (and a lot cheaper).

Victoria slinglady.

Hated hated the baby bjorn - wish I’d never bought it. Had a connecta which I used from 10 months to 2.5 (now pregnant again so stopped) and I loved it. I intend to buy an Integra this time for this one and try a caboo as i intend to carry from birth.

Chocomalt · 02/10/2018 16:13

From birth I found the Caboo lite was the best, tried a general wrap one but found it too slow getting in and out of the car, and it lost its tightness easy. Then progressed to the bjorn, which was great for ease / quickness, but my son quickly became too heavy for me by 6 to 9 months. I did try the ergo 360 (& kept trying at various stages), but both my son and I hated it, and I didn't find it any lighter than the bjorn so that was discarded. Then moved to a backpack as other carriers just didn't work for us.

CatsCatsCats11 · 02/10/2018 16:24

Loved our connecta

starryeyedsnowgirl · 02/10/2018 16:32

Lillebaby complete- does from birth (ish- 6 or 7lb) up until about age 4 with no extras needed. Has a lumbar support. Loved ours.

mommybear1 · 02/10/2018 16:35

Loved our babybjorn well made easy to wash and felt sturdy as well as comfortable.

BareBelliedSneetch · 02/10/2018 16:36

Loved the caboo for the first 5-6 months, then the connecta, and now at 2.5 the ergo is still amazing.

Gooseysgirl · 02/10/2018 16:50

I loved the Bjorn for mine up to about 5 months, so easy to use! I had a Boba after that and carried my hefty DS until he was 3.5 (I'm 5ft) - fab sling!

WhatWillGeorgeDo · 02/10/2018 17:15

Ama wrap from birth until too heavy and now a standard Tula. The Ama wrap was comfortable for me and my baby when carrying, could be left on without being bulky so I could just pop her in and out without retrying but it didn’t feel like I was constrained like a structured carrier would feel and worked for when my baby was awake or asleep (very cute tucking their head into one side). I think I would probably have got on with any type of stretchy wrap once I’d got confident with how to tie it safely (sling library/meet-up sooo helpful for this) but I love my Tula (standard SSC rather than FTG or the other new one) and haven’t been as convinced when I tried some other SSC types. So that definitely comes down to personal preference (perhaps body shape plays a role?). Also I like the patterns! I would have loved to move onto a woven wrap but I never quite got the hang of them and I needed something for a quick ‘up’.

OhFlipMama · 02/10/2018 17:30

I plan on a K-Tan wrap, then a Tula carrier

Rigamorph · 02/10/2018 17:33

Just bought an Integra for my 5mo, so far it's great and I love it!

chorusline79 · 02/10/2018 17:33

Loved my manduca - it was so comfortable and easy to use.

Spilledmycoffee · 02/10/2018 17:34

Ergo 360. Really comfortable for me and dd always seemed very comfy. It was easy to get on and off and it had a sort of hood that went over dds head and fastened up to hold her head if she fell asleep.

randomsabreuse · 02/10/2018 17:35

For a hiking carrier I really like the Deuter Kid comfort III. Enough space for stuff for a day out, effective containment for over tired grumpy toddler with less risk to my eyes and throat than a sling. DH used this and the Manduca as long as DD would tolerate not walking herself... I made it almost as long until I got pregnant with my 2nd.
