So I'm going on a uk holiday tomorrow with six month old DS and we have borrowed an ergo from a sling library which so far has been great for popping into shops. DS is 20lbs so I can't really carry him everywhere without a carrier or sling.

I'm a bit confused about clothing. I was thinking of putting him in a fleece sleepsuit, with his normal vest and sleep suit underneath, for when we are walking outside. Obviously he'll have a hat to. And I would put my coat over the top but not zipped up because it won't go round us anyway. Does that sound ok?

But also what do we do if I go into a cafe or a shop for a while, will he be too warm? We are probably going to do some museums etc, do I have to take him out and delayer when we reach an inside destination?

Confused!

Forget the fleece suit. Dress him normally for indoors then layer him up on his extremities (hat, legwarmers, extra socks) and you can adjust when you go in or out.

sheffieldslingsurgery.wordpress.com/2014/11/10/snowsuits-scarves-slings-and-safety/ this has some nice suggestions

That's a great link thank you. Leg warmers look ideal or booties but I don't have either! Layer up on socks I guess. I wonder if a pair of my socks might sit quite nicely on his legs?! I've got some mittens so I can make sure I pack those.

Sounds good :) We often did tights under trousers, then extra bigger socks over trousers up to the knee which could be removed.

Well, I use a bug in a rug snowsuit. :) Or dress normally. It's no so cold in London now.:) So no worries.
