Manduca or Tula toddler for 2.5+?

I hired a Manduca from my local sling library for my 2.5 DD for our hols and it was great so thinking about buying a carrier. She walks a lot but does get tired and needs carrying or pram. She's too heavy for me to carry and its a pan pushing an empty pram and also restricts where we can go for walks. I'd like to get a carrier we can put in our bag and use if needed but will fit her for as long as she might need carrying.

I like the Manduca, but will she grow out of it soon? The Tula toddler looks ideal, can anyone tell me how it compares to the Manduca for carrying toddlers 2.5+?

I'm 5'6 and 14-16 and DH is 6' and has broad chest and shoulders. DD weighs around 14/15kg.

I've recently bought a toddler Tula to replace my Manduca for my 13kg, 24mo DD. I'd definitely suggest Tula over Manduca for the sake of longevity. Other toddler carriers are available.

Apart from the size, the Manduca and Tula are very similar carriers. The main difference to me is that the shoulder straps on the Tula don't clip off, so you can't cross the straps in a front carry. But I rarely do a front carry nowadays.

However, the Tula isn't a small carrier. If it's only to go in your bag for if/when she's tired walking, you might be better off with a ring sling or a (short) woven wrap. Some people prefer them anyway (personally I prefer the padding in a SSC), but my size 3 woven or my ring sling are a lot less to carry around for "just in case".

Manduca will be far too small. Tula looks good, or look at the Boba.
