Can I dye my oscha starry night sling?

I have a 100% cotton oscha starry night RS in raven (black with a neutralish pattern). Could I dye it? I'm thinking a dylon machine dye would make the neutral colour bright but the black would still be black, if that makes sense.

Any tips?
