Could I use a hip seat to help do a piggy back?

Just thinking of buying a hippy chick hip seat to help carry my 3.5 year old this weekend. He can go piggy back, but tends to flop around a bit, whereas if I had my hands free I could hold his hands.

Any thoughts?

I would have thought it would dig into your back and be massively uncomfortable as it is shaped to fit round your hips. It is just polystyrene inside it, but I wouldn't do it - I'd get a soft carrier or one of those long length of fabric things and you can make it into a sling type seat and tie over your shoulders.

We do have a soft carrier, I was just wondering if this would be better.

What is your soft carrier? I can't imagine the hip seat being better tbh.
