Is my big 10w.o too young for ergo?

My ds is 10 w.o, hes as big as a 6 month old, weighs 16+ half pounds. He just about has full head/neck control, and fits in my ergo carrier. I'm not sure though if hes still too young, if it might damage his hips or anything? Can anyone advise please? TIA

Can you froggy style in an ergo (both legs tucked in)? We were froggying in a mei-tai with DS until he was about 8 months (DS is tall, but average weight) simply because he didn't seem comfortable with legs out until then.

There is a padded head insert you can use with newborn, it's also good for breast feeding & generally to keep them happy around the house. We have twin 10 month olds & have a boba 3G for 1 twin, which I now find is more comfortable for the twins as it has a higher back so it's comfortable for 4-10 hrs ie above normal use. It doesn't need an insert for an over 7lb baby. Froggy style is fine for babies especially for mum facing in the front or back. Much better for the hips. at that age we had only mothercare 3 way carriers , but they were so uncomfortable for baby & me, even after an hour, that we stopped using them until we got the ergo & the boba
