Hi,

Our baby is due in December and I'm looking at purchasing a baby carrier (sling or backpack not sure) I am slightly concerned that as I am a petite build (5'4" 8 stone) and my husband is heavily built (6'3" 100kg) that we may encounter problems regarding comfort and fit.

Does anyone have any experiences in this regard? If so do you have any suggestions as to the best carrier to purchase?

Thanks

Wraps fit everyone. A lot of people like to start with a stretchy one although you can start with a woven.

A Connecta would also work - my sister's boyfriend is similar weight/height to your DH and uses one but I also know someone who is 5'1 and 7 stone who used one.

It might be worth going to a sling library if you have one locally to try out more things and see what appeals/fits.

I have a hop-tye that would be great in this situation. But as pootle says, anything that wraps would fit both of you. Sling libraries are brilliant as they show you how to tie it and you can try out as many as you need until you find the perfect one.

Ergo baby, DH and I both still use it with our 3 and 5 year old. Though I used a wrap when my babies were tiny.
