How old did you go using a Moby. Do I need to change to a woven sling or can I stick with my Moby. Their website says you can use then to age 3? Can I use it to back carry - its not shown on the website?

I've just moved on from a Moby, DS is 8 and a half months and 21lb.

Although I still found it really easy and comfy to carry him in he was starting to get too wriggly and trying to get his arms out so I felt it wasn't as safe for us.

AFAIK stretchys aren't recommended for back carrying.

I've just bought a mai tei which so far I'm loving.

Do you have a sling meet or sling library near you, they should be able to let you have a play with different slings.

Just signed up for a woven sling workshop on Saturday so should get more info from there. I've been using my Moby with arms out for about 3 months and generally it's ok but DD does tend to throw herself back to look at things upside down for a laugh!

I'm still using a Kari Me for DD 17 months bit she s small ish. Only for short journeys and usually forward facing. Don't use a stretchy on your back - check out you tube for kids throwing themselves out Shock. I bought a mei tai intending to use it for back carrying but I'm just not brave enough! I know it's safe but feels strange as I'm only used to front carries.

musttidyupmusttidyup go for it!! I'm only 2 weeks in to back carrying but am loving it.

At home I kneel on the floor with a big cushion behind me but last week at the childrens centre I just whipped DS onto my back, whilst telling other mummys how simple it was fuck knows how I did it, I blame DM instilling me with confidence in my own abilities!

Ok, we're at 1 year now and still managing! I haven't got round to buying a woven but still managing to carry my 95th centile DD comfortably in a Moby - shows its possible!
