Daft question- how to eat out with a sling?

This is probably a really daft question- I go out for lunch with a group of other Mums and I'm fed up of trying to fit the pram in with all the others- so could I just use a sling? I have a close caboo and a cailin blue- does anyone do this? Any how?
Thanks

practise! Order stuff you can eat with one hand easily (not too filled sandwich, chopped salad, never anything hot) - DD is 6months and I manage to eat if she falls asleep in the sling - too bloody hungry to go without (I have calin bleu's as well)

I do this all the time in the way PP say - also the others will often hold them for a bit too or let you plonk her in their buggy if holding their own..
