ring sling (possibly pouch I'm not sure) and 6 mnth old, can anyone help me?

Hi,

I have a Freedom ring sling, but it has sort of padding around the edges, not sure if it is a 'pouch type' or not (bought second hand so no instructions). Does anyone know how I could carry my 6 mnth old DS in it, or do I need to fork out for a new sling with instructions?
