So what is the ultimate carrier for all occasions?

I'm looking to buy a carrier but I want it to be suitable for day-to-day things (shopping etc) and going for longer walks. I really don't want a framed one.

I want it to be suitable for now (DD is 5 months) and until she's a toddler.

It also needs to be suitable for me (size 10, 5'2") and DP (medium to large build, 5'11").

I'd like it to be relatively attractive too.

And preferably not too expensive.

Is that too much to ask?

Any suggestions?

TIA

I would probably go for a mei tai- I love our Babyhawk but there lots of different ones out there. I am the same size as you, and my DH the same as your DP and we can both use it with no problems.

I just got a Rose and Rebellion and love it. Suitable for up to 3 years or 20 kg and lots of different patterns so you and DP should be able to find one you both like. My DH and I both use the sling, I'm 5'6 and he's 6ft.

Thanks everyone. I've googled and searched on ebay for mei tai's and there are so many at such varying prices. How would you know which is best? Confused

I would recommend a mei tai. It what my son and I use most days and is really comfy, quick and easy. I bought mine second-hand for £15 from the Natural Mamas forum.

Oh yes, def go to a sling meet. You can try on all different types with your baby and get practical tips and advice from other sling-users.
