so we have the kari-me for 4mo dd2, which is ace. problem is she is a 99th centiler, and she is now too heavy for me to carry on my front for all but the shortest periods.

is there a back or hip carrier that i can use from this age? i know that the kari-me can be used as a back carrier, but there's no way i can do that by myself at the moment, as she can't sit up.

Have you tried a woven rather than a stretchy wrap? They tend to give a bit more support. As a guide I could carry ds1 on my front when he was 18 months that way!

ooh - thanks, are the woven slings easy to use? do you tie them the same way?

Pretty much yep, except with a stretchy one you can pop bubs in and out leaving it in place, with a woven you have to re-tie every time. V comfortable though.

i like the look of a mei tai - is it easy to do a back carry by yourself, or is this a two-man job?
