What do I need to take a 9 month old on country walks?

Hello, I haven't used a sling at all with DD - it's been pushchairs all the way. She's 9 months now and very easy going in the day time so DH and I would like to start going out walking again - I am totally clueless as to what we'd need - I guess some kind of backpack carrier?

Also, I'm not sure what she weighs but she's pretty heavy - will that be ok?

Please can anyone advise? Many thanks Smile

yes, a backpack. Little Life is good but there are other (cheaper) ones.

Thanks very much sethstarkadder. I have had a look and seen some with 20% off ( they are quite pricey though!)

Get a Macpac Possum. It is sooo worth the money if you do regular country walking.

I agree they are very expensive new though. I stalked ebay for months to get a bargain price on one in top condition.

Just seen a Macpac Possum for £99 in a sale. Is that a good price Fanny?

Up to roughly what age can you carry a child in one of these?

Thanks!

Yes I think that's a good price.

We started our DD aged 6 mths and are still carrying her at 2.4. We are now thinking we need to buy another for our 7 mth DS so we can keep walking as a family.

Although I've just seen the Macpac Vamoose (next model up) so may be tempted to look at that... Grin
