Hi, new to Slimming World and really don’t feel confident to go to a group yet, so I bought a book pack from vinted.
The food optimising book says ‘online’ on the front, is it the same as the food optimising book you get if you go to a group?
Thanks x

Hi, when was the book published as there has been a recent change to the plan so the info in the pack may not be current.

if you don’t want to attend a group, you can sign up direct with slimming world online. You can then access the app with all the up to date info and SWIP values

It depends on when the book was published, syns or as they are now known SWIPS have changed a lot, as do the nutritional value of foods, cost of living increases mean that food producers are using cheaper ingredients so the values change

Can I say, dont not go to a group

You may need to try a group or 2 before you find your "tribe "

The groups I attend have a fantastic consultant. She is so honest , she doesnt push SW products, she arranges group walks, nights out , and is there 24/7

There's a sign as you walk through the door - no strangers here - we are all friends - and we really are . A group of people all there for the one reason, lose weight and get a healthy attitude towards food.

Dont be scared to go. The consultant will welcome you, as will the girls doing the pay and weigh and someone will come over and say high and come your second week , everyone will greet you and ask after you

Join now before the prices increase. There's lots of free weeks to be found when there and seriously , the support in group is amazing - keeps me on target for 2 years now

Thankyou for your replies, I am leaning more towards going to a group, and have searched the website thingy for a group near me x

I haven't used the "online" system but I like the app, it has a useful barcode scanner to scan supermarket products as opposed to raw ingredients. The book seems to be slightly different though e.g. strawberries have swips in the book but the app has them as Free.

Strawberries have swips???

Yes, page 49 of the book - but only when pureed or cooked. I think I misread the page columns and thought it was talking about fresh, sorry
