Why privately? Ive had metformin through my GP for PCOS for years.

OP, I had very good results on Fast 800 / 5:2 for PCOS. Maybe if you are stalling, look into a different programme?

My gp would only prescribe through a consultant, I’m still waiting for that appointment a year later !

I’ve got metformin as well. I’ve got hormonal based PCOS so I still ovulate and have regular periods so I’m not to sure if it still makes loosing weight harder than the standard PCOS

PCOS is basically insulin resistance of the ovaries which is why metformin works.

I had PCOS but it went away when I went keto. I also lost 8 stone. Low carb is your best friend here.

Have you counted your calories? Thats what dictates weight loss. I lost 3 stone many years ago on SW but I can see how easy it is to ‘stick to plan’ whilst vastly overeating

I have PCOS and the only way for me to loose weight is a low carb / fast diet.
I still have veg - so not to atkins level low carb, but tend to stick to things that grow above ground. Fruit tends to be more berry based.

I found that a lot of diets were quite carb heavy and just didn't work for me due to the insulin resistance the pcos caused
