Good morning fellow Slimming World folk,

This is my 3rd (and hopefully last) occasion to have lost weight at SW. But I can’t shift the last half stone and it’s getting me down. I’ve reduced carbs and upped fibre but would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Im not trying to be unhelpful or discouraging, but maybe your body needs that extra half stone? I once
lost to a target weight, but that half stone flew back on.

Is your target weight what you would have been in your younger days?

I had in mind a target of 8.10 - because that would have got me to perfect BMI, but nope - body is not playing ball and 9 stone it is

I was getting upset about not being able to drop those last few pounds, I was nearly starving myself cutting back on everything - no way to be so I said sod it and now I can maintain at 9 quite happily, without depriving myself or feeling like Im forever on a diet , feeling like Im missing out

This is reassuring. I am 1.5lb from target which would put me just in the healthy BMI. I just can’t shift it. Very despondent today. I’m already very vigilant and any further would just be miserable.

Get into that mindset and you will quit

Call target - BMI can go for a hike - its not geared for middle aged women, athletes, anyone outside the "norm"

What I would advise is - and this is what has worked for me - call target and up the exercise as best you can. I started off with just walking, barely a mile a day, now it's 5 miles a day and I throw in a cycle when the weather is on my side. I dont have time - nor tbh - inclination for the gym so I throw out a few lunges and squats whilst cooking dinner, do 100 skips. I now aim to hover at the low end of target so I dont have to set another . Whilst I haven't actually lost anymore weight, my body shape has changed and I lost another dress size

Keep going to group, keep getting weighed , most of all keep getting the support
