Slimming world for maintenance

This is probably a daft idea but just thinking about all the options. I have recently lost 7 stone on mounjaro and am at my goal weight. I am currently tapering off as I can no longer afford to remain on it for maintenance due to the price rises.

Anyway, do slimming world allow you to join at a healthy BMI for maintenance? Obviously I didn’t lose weight by following their plan, but I hear really good things and have friends who have lost a lot of weight with them. I know they do their slim for life plan but that seems to be for existing members who have reached goal.

Just looking at a range of options to help me maintain my loss. I have made a lot of changes to my eating habits and now eat mainly high protein and low carb, I would like to think this on its own will be enough but I think I will need a bit more support.

You can only join slimming world if you have at least 7 lb to lose and the weight doesn’t leave you in an u healthy BMI range.

There are support threads on here for people coming off MJ once they have reached their goal. I wouldn't go to SW or WW as I find their methods lead to a disordered way of thinking about food and eating.

I think slimming world are welcoming people on injectables now too.

Go along to a meeting and have a chat with the consultant

With SW you set your own goal and you have to stay within 3lbs of that to attend for free, else its £5.95 a week

You are at your target weight so that will cause a headache , they accept members who arent at target and are using the injections though, as they are learning what a healthy diet is whilst getting the added help they need

Maybe it will be that you have to see if you do gain and go and join - say 7lb

The slim for life - which I do, for maintaining , is just reinforcing everything I learned whilst losing. Because my journey was so slow, the maintenance for me isnt that much different from the weight loss programme, I still really have to be careful but I have a 3lb window so I go along weekly just to keep it in check. Going to group once a week keeps me focussed on what I have achieved and reminds me, I dont ever want to get back to that person I was who walked in the door 2 and a half years ago. The group is really friendly, a group of women and men, from all walks of life, who found themselves not liking their size and needing help

so pop in for a chat

Well done for getting this far xx

Our consultant has mentioned help for people on or after weight loss injections so its clearly something they are prepared for. I think SW are embracing it as it was one of the reasons given for WW in USA filing fir bankruptcy.

If you look for a local group you can find the phone number for the consultant to have a chat. Might be easier.
