Just this really!
For various reasons including hectic work rotas and childcare, I can't attend any local SW groups :(
So, today I've started doing it myself at home. I plan to each mainly fruit (loads of watermelon), veggies and fat free yogurt.
How quickly can I expect to feel some results? Need to lose as much as possible by mid August. Any inspirational stories appreciated :) x

slimming world plan is really not about mostly fruit and veg and fat free yogurt.

Have you got a book? Maybe just go to 1 group, once, to join and have the plan explained to you.

You need your HE, and plenty of protein as well, and then you need syns.

If you think eating fruit and veg and yog is following SW then you are very much mistaken and are not likley to succeed long term, as SW is a healthy eating plan which includes eating cereals, bread, meat, fish, beans, pulses, carbs and also cake biscuits and chocolate and wine, and "normal" dinners like curry and burgers and chips and roast dinner etc.

I (rejoined) SW 14 months ago, and got to target 2 months a go. It took me a year to loose nearly 3 stone. I was on plan, weighing in weekly and did / do lots of exercise, Yes it works, and im sure it can work for you too.

I have been through all the weight loss options ie slimming world, lighter
life, Cambridge diet etc and lost weight , but, always put it back on and more. From September 2023 to May 2024 I managed to lose 5 stone and have kept it off (mostly! - I keep having blips but manage to get back down with a few weeks. I did it by will power and eating a higher protein intake, with a lot of fruit and vegetables etc. typical day was 1 weetabix with banana, chicken with vegetables, a protein pudding (Lidl)with fruit and lots of fluids inc diet drinks and coffee and tea. In Jan 24 I downloaded a free app that you put your weight, calories you need, and you can scan your foods into and it shows your carbs, fats and proteins so you keep on track.

I also cut out alcohol completely as I’d snack ridiculously when I drank!

What you are suggesting is very light in protein and high in sugars. You need to have a think about what constitutes a healthy diet.

I eat mostly Asian style now and that's a pretty good balance of protein carb and veg. I avoid sugars like the plague because that's what triggers me.

Hi OP - I've only just joined SW online but am finding it very useful - their customer services team are great if you do have any queries! I'd recommend booking onto their on demand events - they run a new member class every week - and watching some of the recordings too in subjects you're interested in. Hope you find it as useful as I do!

They use to do a 4 week guarantee lose weight or money back.

I haven’t heard it quoted for a while though and if it does applies online.

Least you’ll have access online to the shop for cook books, meal tracker and the bars.

(I personally believe you can lose weight in first week) the talks can be good from in person meetings heck it saved me last week got a jacket arrive for lunch at hospital with nothing for filling and then suddenly remembered a group chat we’d once had about fillings where someone chipped in their filling preference was actually basic salt and pepper and actually it was quite nice as I did get some condiments.

When I was in a lot of pain with my gallbladder I put myself on a low fat diet . I read the labels on everything I was to eat and only ate things that were 5% fat or below because it is the gallbladder trying to deal with fat that causes the pain.
I unintentionally lost loads of weight before my operation and it was so easy to do. I didn’t ban groups of food or calorie count in any way but the weight came off . The 5% fat thing was promoted by Rosemary Connelly as a diet and it works .

Just go high protien low carb, plenty of utube vids out there to gwt you going.

Living on fruit and veg is not sustainable and it's not the Slimming World eating plan.
It's a diet for animals in a zoo.
Look at joining SW online, and look after your health.

You can't just eat loads and loads of 'free foods'. It can cause eating disorders when you 'abuse' the SW system. I've seen it happen.

People binging on whole chickens and huge portions of pasta because they think it won't make them put on weight. Or whole boxes of grapes, a whole pineapple and punnet of cherries as a 'snack'.

You need to eat balanced meals and count calories. Fruit, veg, lean meat, a bit of dairy and non processed carbs. And then of course a small treat sometimes to stop cravings.

But do not use SW in the way you're describing. It will make you unwell and will not lead to lasting weight loss.

I am 63 OP and was 4 stone overweight at 5ft 4 - but suprisingly didn’t look terrible it was kind of all over but don’t have a huge tum and quite slim legs .

I tried mounjaro for 6 weeks but it didn’t really agree with me, so for past 2 and a half months I’ve gone back to basics. Low carb, high protein, lots of fruit and salad and veg , enough full fat Longley farm cottage cheese to keep Poundland in business and 5% fage Greek yogurt - 1200 cals a day in week , 1500 to 1600 at weekend to allow for a bit of wine and I am down just under 2 stone since mid April . Lots of water too and green tea and 1 Americano with oat milk a day - no soft drinks at all

it is doable and I’m not hungry - a lot of salmon, prawns, chicken , omelettes etc .

I didn’t like slimming world much , seemed to encourage a lot of very artificial food and some weird habits like plates of pasta and a lot of not very natural low fat food . I actually lost weight better eating less processed food , some of it full fat .
