I was wondering if someone can help I bought some tinned tomatoes, garlic, onions and mixed herbs and tomato purée hoping when it’s all together it will taste similar to dolmio (the only one my husband likes) is that all free what u got? Also how many grams serving size would you recommend?? I’m currently 82kg and 5 ft 2 inches im trying to learn portion control I don’t want to eat too much i use to rely on slimming pills to help but stopped as I wanted to be healthier, so far today I’ve had around 383 calories for breakfast and lunch (I didn’t eat all of my breakfast as I didn’t like it) I know you’re not supposed to calorie count on slimming world but I don’t want to go over the limit

Either do SW and stick to the guidelines or not and if you do it then don't calorie count. A third of the plate should be pasta, a third sauce and the rest salad or veg and eat to your natural fill. I try and make most of the plate salad or veg.

I sautee onions, add mince and fry off, add garlic paste, add tomato puree, good sprinkle of mixed Italian herbs and one or two Knor beef stock gel pots plus some pasta. Let it simmer for a good while at the very minimum an hour and add water if necessary.

Bolognese can turn out watery if you just tip the tinned tomatoes in with the beef, so to help thicken it up like a jarred sauce, put the tomatoes, onions, garlic and any other veg in a blender together first and it'll turn out a lot thicker and nicer!

We often add extra diced celery carrot courgette and mushroom to our bol to up the speed. Sometimes with a side salad or I use my hex b and syns to make a homemade garlic bread.

Firstly, you need to decide whether you are doing Slimming World or Calorie counting.
Why pay for SW and not follow their plan which has been proven to work.

I soften onions, brown 5% or 3% fat mince, add sliced mushrooms, a couple of crushed garlic cloves and chopped courgette and cook until softened. Add tinned chopped tomatoes, a couple of good squeezes of tomato puree and a nice strong beef stock (I use 2 x beef Oxo cubes in about a quarter of a pint of boiling water). Simmer on the hob until the majority of the liquid has gone, or there is as much liquid as you would like.

Use turkey mince instead of beef mince. We add mushrooms, a courgette plus onion. We use wholewheat pasta sheets, much healthier than the white sheets.
