So I’ve been looking a lot online about slimming world I want to try it but currently going it alone my biggest down fall in diets is my appetite is so big and not feeling full on a diet so when I found out there were free foods I can eat as much as I like of I thought I’d give it a try so made some pasta with tomato purée (usually use dolmio) green beans and sweetcorn with some garlic I’ve seen some conflicting things online about tomato purée and sweetcorn being syns or not I also don’t like green beans so I only managed to eat 4 or 5 of them I made quite a lot of it so whenever I’ve been peckish today I went and got myself a bowl kind of skeptical of how this is going to work tho I’ve had 3 bowls so far and it’s only 2:39pm will probably have another bowl later so currently finding it hard to believe that it’s actually going to work but it’s worth a try ps I did see after that a 3rd of the plate is supposed to be super free foods I didn’t see it till after I made it so I will try that tomorrow

I was extremely sceptical that SW would work because I felt like I was actually eating more food than I had been before. I never went silly on huge amounts of pasta or rice though because even though it's free I knew it would slow my weight loss down.

SW gives you the guidelines but it's up to you how much you follow them. Hence people trying all sorts of weird things trying to get around the rules and still lose weight! But they are usually the ones who pile it all back on because they haven't adopted healthy habits.

I know that pasta actually makes me more hungry if I eat too much of it, I think it affects my blood sugar levels or something.
For me I feel more satisfied if I've eaten lots of veggies plus plenty of protein because that fills me up for longer.

@SamQuint im the opposite for some reason it I fill up on veggies I’m hungry an hr later I stay fuller for longer eating carbs like pasta and potatoes I don’t really mind if the weight loss is slow as long as it actually happens feel really guilty as I had a lot of syns today (a can of redbull made up the majority) don’t know why but I feel extreme guilt so far towards food that is synned today I had half a can of beans and two eggs for breakfast followed by a pack of plain micro rice with a bag of birdsey steam fresh veggies and two grab it Chinese chicken sticks it says online the sticks are 1 sun each the rice was plain basmati micro rice I didn’t realise that micro rice was synned until after I ate it although I couldn’t find the exact syn value for it

I think with microwave rice it has a syn value because a lot of them contain oil, if you cooked normal rice it would be plain. I don't have the app any more so can't check.

Someone said to me if you follow the plan 100% then it will 100% work and you will lose weight. If you start veering away thinking a few extra Syns won't matter today and do the same thing the following day then it's probably not going to work. There has to be some change and some sacrifice to what you were eating before.

I think long term it's about finding something that suits you as an individual, that fits your lifestyle, because anything too restrictive will make you miserable. SW was ideal for me, other people absolutely slate it.
