Hi

I'm following slimming world and have recently been told I need to limit my carb intake as am prediabetic. So this week no carbs, stuck to my syns and tbh have felt quite hungry but ignored it. All for the scales to show I've gained weight.

Feeling deflated any advice for how to do this without the carbs?

Thanks

I think it would be quite difficult to follow slimming world doing low carb. Years and years ago there were red days green days. Green days basically no meat only carbs pasta rice potatoes, red days only meat and fish 'and no carbs. If I do Low carb diets I 'm starving.

You could try asking your GP to refer you to a dietician. But start by eating potatoes rice pasta in moderation. Don't eat bread at all if you can help it. And no sugary food like cakes biscuits sweets chocolate. Very disheartening to have gained weight.

Forget it. Slimming world is terrible for prediabetes. I have done slimming world on / off for 10 years. I love (loved) slimming world but I am eating a low carb / healthy fats diet and it's wonderful. Lots of yummy olive oil and full fat cheese / yoghurt but am having low carbs and doing a lot of food pairing. Two weeks in and lost 6lb and it's great.
I am prediabetic (42)
