Hi I have decided to try and lose weight. I attend my first session if Slimming World today.
My bathroom scales read that I am 15 stone exactly. I was shocked when I was weighed at the session and they told me I was 15.7. I came home weighed myself and my scales said 15 exactly. I then went to my friends house. Weighed myself there and again I was 15 stone exactly.

Feeling really confused?

Any thoughts?

I think SW scales are regularly calibrated (if that's the right word) so should be correct. Wete you wearing exactly the same clothes?

mac1974 · 12/03/2023 14:17

Did you weigh at different times of day?
I tend to weigh a little less at home than group.
Don't worry just crack on with your journey & stick to weighing at group. Good luck.

Thank you for responding. I am feeling really bad about my size. On positive note. I have been following the plan and been eating lots of the free food. But I haven't had the sugar cravings.
I just hope I have lost a little weight at my next weight in.

The SW scales will be correct. Bin your scales because at best they're inaccurate and at worst they will make you obsess about that they say and that they don't match. I always do better when I don't weigh through the week but I do tend to weigh at home before going to get weighed (bad habit).

I started where you are now so please don't beat yourself up. I've been at target for almost 3 years now and had a baby in the meantime. SW helped me have a healthy pregnancy and get back to my pre pregnancy weight safely.

Good luck

You've made an amazing start. It's a good plan & sustainable if you stick to it. I just rejoined 3 weeks ago & always find the first 2 weeks hard. It's such a motivation to see the weight coming off though and I'm really in the zone at the moment. Let us know how you get on at your first weigh in.

SugarCraving · 14/03/2023 20:48

Oh yay that's brilliant. Well done. You'll be half a stone down before you know it.

Losingthewill8 · 20/03/2023 16:29

Good luck. I too am going to start back next week.

Mac1974 do you have any tips as you are newly back. I used to do the old old old plan years ago, Green and Original and a bit of EE the last time I joined which again was about 4/5 years ago, maybe more.

To get a stone off initially would be great to keep me on track and entice me to want to continue being healthier.

mac1974 · 23/03/2023 13:23

Sorry I forgot to reply the other day
I try to keep my carbs down to be honest as it makes a massive difference to me. I also avoid crisps as they are my downfall

How is everyone getting on? I didn't go last night as I had tickets to a show & found it hard to stay 100% on track knowing I wasn't going. Back on it now & determined to get a loss next weds.

SugarCraving · 23/03/2023 18:02

Another 2lb off this week. I have been following the plan. I would recommend it. I have with my weight for a long time.

Well done!

Joined on Tuesday, let’s see what happens 🤞

SugarCraving · 23/03/2023 18:26

Losingthewil8 with joining you have made a step with the weight loss journey. I hope you are finding it easier than I did. It took me a week to try to figure out syns.

Let us all know how you get on x

Looking for suggestions.

Been away for the Easter weekend. I have recorded everything that has passed my lips. I have consumed more syns than I usually would. But I didn't go over my 15 syns allowance. I usually use around 5 syns.

I have weighed myself at home and appear to have gained 4lb. Feeling really down.

Can anyone make me feel better?

That's annoying @SugarCraving . Are you sure your scales are the same and the SW ones? When is your slimming world weigh day? Is there anything that you could have been estimating syns for and been over?

I've had weeks before when I've deserved a loss and not got it. Keep going and you'll likely get a big loss next week.

SugarCraving · 12/04/2023 21:06

Thanks for responding. My scales at home show my weight as lighter than the SW ones. I weighed myself on Friday and again on Tuesday. The only difference being is I have not been working and probably wasn’t as active.

How are you doing with your weight loss journey?

Sugar craving

Hi. I’m 6lb down and delighted with that. I have no desire to lose quickly as I know exactly what happens when I do, I go off the eating rails 🤣 That’s from 21 March so 4 weeks. How about you?

SugarCraving · 21/04/2023 16:25

I have lost around 10lb. I did have a gain last week as I had been away for Easter. Back on plan this week.

I have just been thinking how everyone else is getting along. Flowers
