I need a kick up the bum

I'm doing SW on my own at home. I've tried calorie counting but I cook fresh meals and with a family of 5 I just found it too faffy.

I was doing so well and lost 15lb. I then went away and put 4lb back on. Lost 2lb again last week but it was a struggle. This week I'm back messing around only half doing it etc. I've got probs 1.5 stone/2stone left to lose and I know exactly what I need to do and how good I feel I do when I'm really on track so why am I messing around!!

Not sure what I want from this thread other than to moan!

Oh I'm here for you! I'll give you a kick, because I've also asked for multiple kicks over the last few years, but I learnt you need to be in the right headset.

Like you, I know exactly what I need to do to lose weight, but for some reason I just couldn't do it. This time, it is VERY early days, but I have lasted 9 days (instead of less than 9 hours!!) and even though I've had the odd meal out/boozy day I've been really good at not just going 'stuff this I start again on xyz'. If that makes sense?

I'm doing it on my own, at home. Not even using an app, just the book I had about 5 years ago! So here to chat, happy to do on thread or you can DM me.

What are you eating today? Have you seen that thread? I found it and like it! x

Userss88 · 16/06/2022 14:04

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed.

You 100% do need to be in the right frame of mind, I think I've got out of it after been so on it, I've just found an old picture of myself though and wow if that isnt the motivation I need I dont know what is!

Today I've had some cherries and a 0.5 syn yoghurt. Lunch was a ham salad and tea is Moroccan lamb with a big couscous salad and some salad leaves. I am going to use my bars as my hex b today, going to have one now with a cuppa tea and one after the kids have gone to bed with some fruit. What are you having?

I am doing it without the app etc too...I've done it that many times! I said before I wasnt going to give up this time and I'm not but I do need a kick up the bum!

How are you getting on?

i genuinely can’t remember what I’ve been like the last few days, very syn free on food, but ruined with alcohol!

today I am being much better. I was going to have egg and beans for lunch, but actually am making butternut squash soup and will have with a bit of tiger bread (4.5syns) and for dinner chilli with rice and tenderstem broccoli .

how about you today?

So I have actually had a good rest of the week after my blip day and managed to turn it around. I've lost 3lb this so feeling pleased and a bit more back in the right head space. Thank you for you support! Hope you had a good week too x

Sounds like you’re doing better than me. It’s my first week and I’m sat here eating a cheese and steak burrito 😲

AmISpeakingAnotherLanguage · 20/06/2022 10:15

@Userss88 That is BRILLIANT! Well done! I'm so pleased for you! Saturday was good, yesterday was not so good.

But I am feeling much more positive today, just about to do some meal planning I think.

@thedogwithnoname sounds epic! Today is a new day and a new week! I think I'm allowing myself a couple of blow out meals a week, because that's how life is right now, hectic! As long as I lose 1lb a week until the end of term I will be ok!

x

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 20/06/2022 10:31

Totally with you!
I've managed to lose 1st since May 21, but since Feb have been all over the place - never gone below the 1st loss mark but at one point I was half a lb away from 1.5 stones. You're so right about being in the right mindset!

Userss88 · 20/06/2022 11:00

Thank you! I'm pleased too!

We can all do this, one step at a time! I am now 1stone 2lb away from where I think I'd like to be. It may well be that I get there and decide I need a little more off but that is my first target.
That would still put me quite over weight for me height etc but I'm trying to concentrate on how I feel.

I have just made myself a cuppa tea and got out 4 chocolate biscuits to have with it, I managed to stop myself and think about whether I actually wanted them or if I wanted a loss this week! Turns out I want the loss more....

What day does everyone weigh on?

AmISpeakingAnotherLanguage · 20/06/2022 11:07

Oh that's good! I was similar, really fancied the last hot cross bun, but had strawberries and a large glass of water instead!

I weigh in on Tuesdays, it gives me a day to recover from the weekend, but isn't close enough to the weekend early enough in the week to be sensible and not celebrate a loss - I've learnt my mindset 😝

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 20/06/2022 14:56

Saturdays, but I'm away this weekend so am weighing in on Friday.
Trying to limit the damage this weekend!

Userss88 · 20/06/2022 17:30

I actually tend to get on the scales everyday but I class my offical weigh day as Sunday Morning.

Everyone had a good day?

Half a pound off. Sigh. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, I slipped into ‘be hungry and drink calories’ mode.

will do better, as felt great on week one.

Userss88 · 22/06/2022 19:57

Half a pound off is still weight off!

Hope you have all had a good day today!

I am in a lot better place, and have started writing down again, I realised I was just sort of playing at it!

Feeling a lot more positive today!

How was your day? x
