Hi all,

I joined slimming world last week and had a 4lb loss and this week I have just maintained :(

I'm disappointed as if stuck to plan bar one Easter egg and I'd done more exercise! Feel very disheartened and I have a busy week this week so I know I won't be able to stick to plan 100%

Feel like giving up but is this normal? I know it's not a gain but still!

Don't focus on the negative!

If you are on plan then you have;

Eaten a balanced healthy diet, probably had more than your 5 a day, had more calcium.

Slimming world isn't just about loosing every week. It's about changing your attitude to food and learning how to eat better.

Have a listen to a few of the SW podcasts.

Are you writing everything down?
Weighing and measuring the healthy extra and syns?

Is a 1/3 of every meal either fruit or veg?

Exercise will only help you loose around an extra 1lb a month I think.

One eater egg can be as many as 33syns.

Don't give up! You have to do a lot of exercise to lose weight and as @sickofthisnonsense said, Easter eggs are high in calories/syns. If you had lost 2lb each week would you feel better about it? Just keep going!

That's true, it is making me more aware of what I'm eating and I definitely feel better/lighter in myself if that makes sense.

I did have quite a lot of carbs last week so maybe it could be that.

Going to just try focus on the week ahead and see what I can do!

Also, maybe I did lack on the speed foods with my breakfast so going to keep my eye on that again this week

I maintained this week too.

Doing an SAS log this week.

If you’re doing exercise you could be gaining muscle, which is why you haven’t lost weight - muscle weighs more than fat. The focus should be losing body fat % and gaining lean muscle mass. Muscle helps you burn fat faster! Don’t be disheartened :)

A lot of this simply isn't true in the context of an average slimmer doing a bit more'body magic' each week.
