I joined slimming world last week, I've never done it before.
When I weighed myself after Christmas I was shocked to see I was 14stone 10. I was in utter denial.
I joined last week and my weight at my first weigh in was 14stone 9.
I've stucked to it religiously, it took a couple of days to get the hang of planning, speed and free foods and hexa and hexb, I've honestly never felt hungry and was surprised how much you could eat.
Today I got weighed and I've lost 8lbs 😊😊😊. I'm so happy.
I've not stuck to any kind of healthy eating for long and I find slimming world so great because I can actually eat! And not feel hungry.
I don't go in for the cult culture, I just literally go in, pay and get weighed.. The rest is up to me.
I'm so happy and just wanted to share :)

8lbs is a great first loss. Well done. It should be said that you haven't lost 8lbs of fat , you have also lost something called Glycogen which is depleted until you go into fat burning. Bring on next week !😀

That’s great news ! I laughed when I Read “ cult culture”. My regular consultant is brilliant, funny, overweight herself and gives really good REALISTIC advice, fab tips etc.I had to attend another group this week and OMG it was like as you say ..a cult! The leader was very wry thin ( not judging,.... well I suppose I am ) and came out with utter crap such as “ bread is the enemy” .There was a discussion about bananas and one lady said that her diabetic nurse had told her not to eat them ..consultant said “ rubbish..on SW you can eat as many as you want !”

Anyway ..sorry infigressed there ....very well done OP xx

Well done that is an incredible start! But I have to say give the meetings a fair try. You can take what resonates and leave the rest.
I have found as weeks go on and you struggle/ or plateau out, it really helps to hear others tips, experiences and support. My SW consultant is really fab and even sent me a note when I was struggling to see if I needed extra support. I also met some really nice people just my perspective.
Whatever you are doing though it works! Fabulous
