Slimming world or calorie counting

I've done slimming world 3 times before but have never kept up with it Hmm can I have your previous experiences with both SW and CC? Which one is better? Thanks

Calorie counting - always!
The only want to lose weight is to use more calories than you consume.

It depends on you tbh, I had 1.5 stone to lose 2 years ago after having DS and tried calorie counting but I was so so hungry all the time and it would lead to me binging on food (I’ve never been a binge eater before so it was really strange how hungry I was). So I joined SW and managed to lose the 1.5 stone without being hungry and without eating different food to the family (apart from cutting out bread). I find SW easy to eat with my toddler and DH because every meal is 1/4 lean meat, 1/4 carb and 1/2 vegetables. So we eat our “normal” meals but I just have more vegetables on my plate than DS or DH. After completely letting loose Oct-Dec 2021 I am back on plan and have 9lbs to lose to get to target (I am currently within the healthy bmi range but my clothes fit better at my target weight).

I will add that my two friends that are currently dieting love calorie counting on MFP.

I lost 50lbs doing cc 8 years ago. Gained a few back after two kids and switched to sw. I didn't lose as quickly but my diet is so much healthier on sw. When cc I would chose a pack of crisps over a banana. Or have a white bread sandwich instead of cooked from scratch leftovers. The 1/3 veg rule really helps.

If you haven’t tried it… try low carb. Neither SW or calorie counting. Total mind shift away from low fat but I find it much better and much better to stick to.

I tried the paella ready meal from Slimming World 🤢 never again.

Sticking to home made sensible portion sizes from now on!
